Automotive Manufacturer uses Virtual Commissioning to save time and money in the field
CLIENT CHALLENGE
Our client, a major US-based automotive manufacturer, requires virtual commissioning for every new final assembly production system. The shut down windows are tight, and delays typically incur a cost premium. Virtual Commissioning is used to identify and resolve hundreds of system bugs prior to physical implementation.
AUTOINTEL SOLUTION
We have successfully completed over 14 virtual commissioning projects for this client within different sections of their production facilities including fluid fill, alignment, glass & tire, and build-up & transfer.
In one project alone, we were able to identify over 150 issues with the equipment’s programming logic so that the equipment manufacturer could resolve those problems before installation and startup in the field. This sped up the physical commissioning process, reducing the client’s lost production costs, labor overhead, and product waste.
Based on our client’s estimate that it costs them $10,000 per minute when their production line is shut down, they have saved over $14M by utilizing virtual commissioning.
Headquarters
We have a team of engineers positioned across the US, but our primary HQ is in Atlanta, GA.
